Open Letter To All Believers
This site is not meant to be a place to lodge
an offence or accusation but rather a hub meant for healing and a
return to
biblical Christian belief and practice. We must however address things
as they
are within Christianity as wishful thinking or turning a blind eye will
not end
in any meaningful solutions.
The
place to start? I choose to start with
identifying a few problems.
The first is the confusion between two warring proprieties within
Christian
thought and practice: Theology and revelation.
Theology
is the study of God from
man's point of view and is extremely humanistic in its promotion of
intellectualism and education. To study the scriptures from theological
definitions and terms demands its devotees learn a whole new language
and
myriad terms unfamiliar to the everyday man. Theology demands an
education that
puts the truths of scripture out of reach for many. Theology makes
these dependent
upon a class of clergy who were institutionally trained in a variety of
competing
denominations, all claiming they alone know the truth. The truth is
whatever
beliefs or doctrines these educated men hold to is simply a matter of
what
denomination trained them. This adds to the overall confusion of who is
preaching the truth for they all disagree and all hold credentials from
impressive seminaries and universities.
1 Corinthians 1:19-27 For it is written, I will destroy the
wisdom of
the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Where is
the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world?
hath not
God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom
of God
the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of
preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and
the
Greeks seek after wisdom: But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews
a
stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which
are
called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom
of God. Because
the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is
stronger
than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men
after
the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath
chosen the
foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen
the weak
things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the
end thereof are the ways of death.
Revelation
is our true propriety.
Revelation is who God reveals himself to be. He does so individually
and
corporately through Jesus by the Holy Spirit and the scriptures.
Revelation is
a supernatural propriety as the Church is a supernatural entity. We are
the
Body of Christ. Just as when Jesus walked as a man among us in a
physical body
he was not dependent upon his deity as the Word of God but rather as a
humble
man dependent upon his Father. We are as Jesus with the Spirit of the
Living
God dwelling in us through faith. Read the below verses carefully.
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father:
and no man
knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father,
save the
Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
John 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up
the Son of
man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself;
but as
my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
10:32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you
from my
Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love
me, he will
keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him,
and make
our abode with him.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him
abideth in
you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing
teacheth
you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath
taught you,
ye shall abide in him.
Matthew 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him,
Blessed
art thou,
Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but
my
Father which is in heaven.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them
which are in
Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
We
walk not according to a carnal
mind, not even an educated carnal mind, we walk by the Spirit and are
led where
the Father would lead. We are taught of the Spirit as well. God has a
way of
making the scripture more than words, it becomes living water within
us. This
is supernatural and is something theology can never accomplish.
Please
do not misunderstand,
Scholarship and education are of great value to us but they cannot
replace our
lifeline to God the Father which is through Jesus by the power of the
Holy
Spirit. This propriety of "by the Spirt through the scriptures" is
primary and everything else must take a back seat.
One
of the largest problems is
the subject of denominations themselves. Make no mistake these are a
product of
men and not God. As the scripture says:
Denominations
are division and by
their very nature divide us from one another. In our quest for a unity
of the
faith many of us will have to do some soul searching and prayerful
study of
Holy scripture in order for this truth to become clear. I recommend you
approach scripture without any commentaries and do so prayerfully. I
believe
you will be amazed in what God reveals to an honest humble heart.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name
of our Lord
Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no
divisions
among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind
and in the
same judgment.
1 Corinthians 1:12-13 Now this I say, that every one of you
saith, I am
of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ
divided?
was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you
as unto
spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed
you
with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it,
neither
yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among
you
envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized
into one
body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and
have been
all made to drink into one Spirit.
Our
unity is not one of
compromise but rather one of submission to God. We must humble
ourselves and
allow the Father to teach us and lead us where he would. We must not
compromise
what we believe but rather allow God to change us and our
understanding. We are
not trying to start a new denomination or suggesting a fleshly
ecumenism here. The
problem has never been so much that we do not agree with each other but
rather
not enough of us agree with God.
Our
unity has at its heart a pure
Gospel. We have not been left to the wiles of the enemy or the pride
and
mistakes of men. There is but one Gospel and Only God and those he
sends can
define it. Those he sends use the scripture and the Holy Spirit speaks
to the
listeners through them. Our teachers must be men sent from God, not
those who
sent themselves. These men must speak as the oracles of God or let them
shut
up. Men's opinions have no place in the pulpit. This too is a
supernatural
operation. As the apostle Paul said:
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 And my speech and my preaching was not
with
enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and
of
power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in
the power
of God.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen,
nor ear
heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God
hath
prepared for them that love him. But
God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all
things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Peter 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles
of God; if
any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth:
that God in
all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and
dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Romans
10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is
written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of
peace,
and bring glad tidings of good things!
There
are many more things to
discuss and address but this is a beginning. All we want is to network
with
those who see and understand the times we live in and who will join us
in this
work of seeking God to bring us to where we need to be as the Body of
Christ. I
can testify that God the Father has a clarity of doctrine and purpose
for us
all in these last days and he his calling his disciples to begin. There
is a
great harvest but the barn must be repaired for there to be a place to
bring
them. God will not allow us to bring in this great harvest into this
current
corruption and division.
Yours
in Jesus, R.S. Neaville
